BIG CATS
The fascinating world of big cats apart from the Tiger includes an extraordinary lineup, comprising of Lions (Asiatic and African), Leopards, Snow Leopards, Jaguars, Cheetahs and Pumas.
While there’s some debate about whether cheetahs truly qualify as "big cats"—given their inability to roar—I find their unparalleled speed and elegance deserving of inclusion in this illustrious group.
I’ve been fortunate to encounter and photograph all of these majestic creatures, except the puma. Each of these big cats is unique, showcasing a distinct characteristics and adaptation to their environment.
For me, the leopard has been the most enigmatic of them all. Remarkably, there was a time when I had seen more snow leopards—those ethereal "ghosts of the mountains"—than leopards in the wild. But all of that changed over the last two years, as my luck with leopards turned dramatically. From the dense forests of Bandipur to the rugged terrain of Panna, these stunningly elusive creatures finally allowed me into their secretive world.
This portfolio is a celebration of these incredible predators, each a masterpiece of evolution, and a testament to the unmatched beauty of the natural world.
